Intro

Halo! G’day! Konnichiwa!

Thanks for visiting!

So, this is the part where I suppose to tell you little something something about my self.. If you do not find reading biography is interesting, you may want to pass on this one. Seriously. Consider yourself warned.

Without further ado…

Just call me Ms Pollyanna. I am from a simple but wonderful family with loving parents and sometimes annoying caring siblings. Blessed with many best friends, five of which I met in kindergarten who have been my closest ones till this very moment. In junior high, there were several times when someone confused me as a boy. Really? Well, on second thought, maybe I was the one to blame here. I guess the combination of boyish haircut, cap, sneakers, army backpack, baggy knee-length pants and oversized T-shirt did not really say “girl”. But I kept dressing like that even when I had to attend traditional wedding ceremonies with my parents –oh, love you both for your patience. In high school, I was given an opportunity to join an exchange school program in Rochester Secondary College, Victoria, Australia. It was awesome! Then, I became an undergraduate student in Hasanuddin University Makassar and met another fellow students who are still in my heart.

After I finished my bachelor degree in Occupational Safety and Health, I had a life-changing event. I married the incredible Mr Realist. Yup, as the names indicate, the Mr and I do not really share the same traits. He is a realist (a rational and practical person) while I am a pollyanna (an optimist or a daydreamer). Despite our differences, we can see the value of each other.  He is a true genius, humble, old fashioned pragmatic, the one who I can always count on, and a wonderful husband with endearing qualities —love you so much, dear. With his encouragement I reunited with my long lost passion, Interior Design. I changed my path and enrolled in Beaumont School of Interior Design and Decorating in Queensland, Australia where Mr. Realist pursued his master degree. Another year has gone by. Now, I am a wife as well as a student in one of colleges in Nottingham, England, majoring in Professional Interior Design. However, I have to study via Virtual Learning Studio since I am currently living in a beautiful city of Kanazawa in Japan where Mr. Realist is undertaking his PhD research. A little bit demanding, but hey, I cherish every single moment I had!

Anyway, this blog is much more than just my passion in interior designs, arts, crafts, architecture, DIY projects, and out of the ordinary yet beautiful things. My point of view as wife, student, cook, traveler, and dark chocolate lover will take place in this blog as well. I would like to publish my posts mainly in English even though I am not a native English speaker —have I told you that I am from the exotic Indonesia?– with the hope that people in another part of the world would understand that a person who happens to believe in Islamic views and comes from a not-so-big country is not that different from you, wherever you are 🙂

Needless to say, A Chance Of Eclecticism is a challenge to push myself out of my comfort zone and to never stop learning.

and, oh, you are very welcome to leave comments or constructive criticism for my posts.

Wassalam.

Cheers!

Ms Pollyanna
